A crowded morning inside a downtown Chicago courthouse began like any other weekday. People filled the lobby in long, slow-moving lines, each person focused on their own legal matters, paperwork, or scheduled hearings.
Deputies moved methodically through security protocols, scanning belongings and guiding visitors through checkpoints. Nothing about the day suggested it would become anything out of the ordinary. Among the crowd stood a woman dressed in a modest trench coat, quietly waiting her turn.
